Different liquids have different surface tensions, and droppers have different exit diameters. I am using these lovely calibrated glass droppers, so I be certain of my drops/ml ratio.
According to the DIY “experts” online, there are 20 drops of water per milliliter. This idiotic rumor has spread for years without correction because Wikipedia lists it as such; but it also notes that “drop” has been defined by pharmacists as 0.05 ml. A pharmaceutical drop is not an actual drop.
Here are the actual values:
- Water: 28 drops/ml
- CBD oil: 42 drops/ml
Steps
We will dissolve 1000 mg CBD in 30 ml MCT (coconut) oil. The resulting strength is 33.3 mg/ml. There are 600 drops per bottle, so 10 drops contains 0.5 ml of liquid. This will provide a moderate dose of 16.6 mg CBD. The just-noticeable effects are:
All you need: MCT oil, CBD isolate, and a dropper bottle.
You can use rocks or powder—no difference unless the rocks are too big for the dropper neck.
I’m using powder here.
If you don’t have a funnel, pour the crystals onto a trough-moldable manifold; aluminum foil will do.
Then tap into the hole.
1 hour later and you can see that the crystal is not dissolving .
No problem. Put the dropper directly on the stove and heat on LOW.
And … we’re done!
Add more MCT to top off the dropper. That’s 30 ml, or 33.3 mg/ml. Good and strong.
