Total granularity control and the experimental attitude
With BoxPress you have total export control. While Scrivener famously gives you control over the presence or absence of sub-pages, BoxPress gives you control over spans of granularity.
BoxPress has been designed with the principle of expectation in mind:
- Principle of Expectation: What you know you can do will affect what you do do.
The tools before you, ready-to-hand, determine you subjective state. Knowing that granularity admits of such easy and total control is bound to inspire experimentation and improve your formal creativity.
POSTS are compiled by default. When you make a POST and give it descendants, all of these notes export together as a single webpage. This is the default behavior of POSTS. To change it—at any level—add NOCOMPILE to your $blogExpOpt.
PAGES are granular by default. When you make a PAGE and give it descendants, the children of the PAGE will appear as SmartButtons at the bottom of the webpage. Clicking one takes you to that child’s webpage, and its children will also appear as SmartButtons. And so on. To compile children with their parent, use the COMPILE export option—that is, add COMPILE to your $blogExpOpt.
