Transcendental

Transcendental. Adj. A word denoting some part of the adventures of the Kantian Lord of the Intra-experiential. Metaphysics cannot be about The Real anymore. It cannot be about the mysterious under-power of which physics and souls and history are the effects. What we would today abbreviate as “the matrix maker.”

Metaphysics, then, is one of the outgrowths of Eleatic skepticism, or the fact that some non-empirical part of our acts of truth-making scoff at affirmative truth-making about immediate sense presence. (Actually, the concern philosophy has with intelligibility and clarity, which is due to its being a process of a medium of signs and meaning, which makes it the special self-conscious activity Hegel applauds and which drives the method and success of his system, is itself a testament to the importance of Parmenides’ revelation. Being really finally is how we define it, and the nature of definition has the Principle of Identity as its heart sense. Being means identity, and the whole history of philosophy is a footnote to Parmenides.

Attention is different from sensation. Self-action caused by core willing is different from bodily action that is pushed from extra-intentional sources.

Analysis: There is willing and undergoing, and there is willing that (we say is) generated from core self or from spontaneous and free agentive causality. There is “an appearing” of a red triangle by imagination, and there is the forceful continual intending of a steady red triangle in imagination, forced to persist by constant effort and the atemporal fixity that refers to a steady atemporal rule (eternal universal), where the fixity seems to reside in and flow from the universal.
