• Other stimulants, like MDMA, alter serotonergic neurotransmission by antagonizing regulatory pre-synaptic auto receptors, blinding the pre-synaptic neuron to the actual amounts of material in the cleft.
• Adrenergic stimulants, such as ephedrine, work by directly binding and activating the receptors that norepinephrine and epinephrine normally bind to.
