Synopsis of this vertical dissection
What better way to present the BoxPress export options than through a vertical dissection of the typical exported webpage? The following is a dissection of your exported webpage where controllable sections are listed in their actual vertical order. An element in [square brackets] means that it is either (1) optional or (2) can be switched off.

Synopsis of our top-down dissection
- Routing options — Some notes might be embedded mid-text stream and as their own page. Some should be footnotes; others, skipped. Which webpages get a Table of Contents. Want to suppress the featured image in the SmartButton, on the webpage, or both?
- Backgrounds and Theme Folders — By smartly naming image files in the Finder, you can make Theme Folders. How to active your choice for this export. How to activate your export-wide Body Widget background color. All about background colors, textures, and images.
- Frame Amenities — Include or remove the sidebar, navbar, Banner, and footer. Or keep the sidebar and move it to the left. Suppress all Frame Amenities with a click.
- Sidebar Control — Maximize Text Area width by moving the sidebar to the bottom. Styling the sidebar. Changing its “Categories” heading to something else.
- Navbar Control — Styling the navbar, its buttons, and the three button modes (normal, hover, and click). Populating the navbar with new buttons or dropdowns. Make it fixed or scrolling.
- Banner Control — Styling the Banner and setting its text.
- [Title and Subtitle Control] — Should the title be the note’s name or its display name? Adding subtitles. Setting text color and background for all six headings levels.
- [Date Control] — Setting its color and format (e.g., 1/19/69 vs January 19, 1969 vs 1969). Suppressing in POSTS; adding in PAGES.
- [Image Control] — Suppressing the featured image. Using a Tinderbox Map View as a clickable HTML imagemap. Using an OmniGraffle export as the same.
- [Audio] — Adding featured audio in a fancy player with a custom name and caption.
- [Table of Contents] — Adding a Table of Contents and setting its depth.

- Activating the Undertitle — for Research Prototypes (person, article, book, quote, quote with analysis, and event).
- Granularity options—Append children as seamless, bounded, columns, table rows, or SmartButtons. (This is BoxPress users’ favorite feature).
- Styling body text—Font-face, size, and color. Styling the border, background, and shadow when using the CARDS export option.
